* 皆川三郎『修辞法と英文構成』には、トーマス・グレイの『エレジー』に出てくる「農夫がとぼとぼと疲れた道を歩く」という例をあげ、意味的には「農夫」を修飾するはずの「疲れた」という語が、人間ならぬ「道」を修飾する位置にあることを指摘している
